What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or more commonly known as CBD, is a natural substance found in hemp plants. It’s one of the active compounds found in hemp and the plant we use to derive CBD for our products. The hemp plant is rich in chemicals called cannabinoids that bind to our cells cannabinoid receptors. There are 90+ types of cannabinoids discovered thus far, many with documented medicinal properties. CBD is non-psychoactive cannabinoid and it doesn’t activate CB1 or CB2 receptors found in your brain which are a part of the endocannabinoid system.

What is the Endocannabinoid System? 

Great question! The Endocannabinoid system plays a key role in maintaining the homeostasis of your body and its systems including the brain, endocrine, and immune, among others.

So what does all of that mean? In layman’s terms – CBD doesn’t give you a high, has shown to be non-addictive and is known for its calming properties to help with anxiety, migraines and sleep.
